Regional calibration using all available wells in a survey area can provide geologically feasible velocity heterogeneity and filter out blunders in velocity analysis. It provides eventually the best PSDM images.
Then reflection tomography can estimate heterogeneity first before estimating anisotropy. Practical solutions for tomography can solve depth imaging problems with automated procedures.

Anisotropy parameter estimation, residual focusing and de-stretching can improve imaging for interpretation and prospect evaluation.
